Upon This Rock

“Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.” — Matthew 16:16

Everything gets built on something. A house, a business, a marriage — each one rests on a foundation, and you usually find out what that foundation was made of at the worst possible moment.

Jesus asks the disciples who people say He is, and then turns it on them: but whom say ye that I am? Peter answers, and Jesus says that on this — this confession — He will build His church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.

The message was pointed about what the church is not built on. Not a man. Not a building. Not money. Men let you down, buildings age, money runs out, and none of the three was ever the foundation. The rock does not move.

And the building is not finished. Christ is still at work on this church and on the people in it — so do not give up on the church, the family, the ministry, or yourself.

A Bench for Sister Kim

A bench was unveiled in memory of Sister Kim, along with her picture. The church is putting together a memory box for her family — pictures, poems, written remembrances — to be presented to them.
