Back-to-school Sunday. The students were called up front, prayed over, and sent into the new year with supplies, gift cards, and the whole church standing behind them.
The word to them had two parts. Put God first — before the day starts, before the test, before the hard conversation. And then learn with excellence: give it your actual best, not your funniest, not your loudest. Excellence honors God, and it honors everybody who has poured into you to get you this far.
School was framed as a mission field. Choose your friends wisely. Stand up for what is right. Do your homework honestly. Respect your teachers. Let people see something different in how you carry yourself — this little light of mine, in a hallway.
And there was a word for the parents too: you are going to make it through this year.
Teachers, and a Standing Offer
Teachers, administrators and school staff were recognized and thanked from the pulpit for the work they do.
