“Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?” — Isaiah 43:18–19
Isaiah is talking to people who keep looking over their shoulder. God’s word to them is not that the past did not happen — it is that they are facing the wrong direction to see what He is doing next.
The message came in three parts. Let go of what is behind — the disappointments you have rehearsed until you know them by heart. Expect God to act; faith looks forward, not backward. And then actually move, because a familiar pattern that is going nowhere is still going nowhere, however comfortable it has become.
There was a plain word about fear, too: do not let being afraid keep you from obeying. God makes the new opening and then goes with you through it. He does not send you ahead alone.
Prayer was lifted for people in hospitals, in jails and prisons, and in rehabilitation centers — and for families carrying something heavy right now.
