“He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.” — Philippians 1:6
Grandparents Day at Hickory Grove. Around fifty grandparents stood to be recognized, and grandchildren shared what they had learned from them.
Pastor Lee preached from Philippians 1:6. The message was that God is not finished with us yet — He is still working on our character and our growth even through the stretches when we cannot see any progress, and He does not abandon what He starts.
The service opened with a reading from Joshua 4, where Israel carried twelve stones up out of the Jordan and set them down as a memorial — so that when the children asked what the stones meant, there would be a story to tell them. A fitting text for a day given to grandparents.
